Tasukete!!
I think what this image says is incomplete. I think that while it represents a common attitude that people ought to be aware of, it lacks a direction for improvement. “Now that I feel this way, what should I do?”
My position is this: I think that humans are all worthy of respect no matter their shape or size.
However, I think beauty is a subjective measure, and that it’s all right to find certain things to be ‘not beautiful.’ Shape and size are small determinants in what is beautiful. To say, “Physical trait x is/is not beautiful” or “Physical trait y is/is not a beautiful trait” is looking at very little of what ‘beauty’ or even mere ‘physical beauty’ is.
What’s important, I think, is understanding and applying the fact that though you may not find someone beautiful, that person is still worthy of your respect.
Stand in front of the mirror and find yourself lacking in beauty in whatever way. That’s fine. Just know that you are worthy of respect, especially your own, and you owe it to yourself to have your judgment be honest and not be informed by some arbitrary social or media standard of beauty. You are not your body, though your body is part of you, and by respecting yourself you are taking it upon yourself to take care of your body and to make it beautiful.
Shape yourself how you choose, body and mind. That is freedom.
